Laser

Workplace 1

Laser cutting (photon erosion) belongs to a group of unconventional machining methods. We have a top and very high quality TruLaser 3040 device from the TRUMPF company.

  • working zone 2000 x 4000 mm
  • power 3.2 kW allows to burn steel sheet up to thickness 20mm, stainless steel up to thickness 12mm and aluminum up to 8mm
  • thickness
  • high cutting speed
  • very narrow cutting gap
  • high cutting accuracy
  • very narrow heat affected area
  • smooth cutting edges, no further machining is required and there is no risk of cutting during handling

Laser cutting is one of the cutting methods that does not predominantly use mechanical work to remove material, but is based on the use of some physical or physico-chemical principle to remove material, without force on the material being machined and without the formation of chips. The cutting is non-contact, so there is no wear on the cutting tool and there is no need to change the tool when changing the shape of the cut part. The properties of the laser beam allow its focusing (by a suitable optical system) to concentrate in a small point an extremely high energy density at the point of impact of the beam (105 to 1014) [W.cm-2], which results in melting to evaporation of material to achieve the desired processing effect.
